My son died from Bacterial Meningitis, after just 8 days of life, in January of this year. There is no vaccine available to prevent this, but if there were, I would have no one to blame but myself if I had opted out.

You can bet your life on the fact I will vaccinate all of our subsequent children, not doing so isn't a risk I can take.

What I hope for my child is that he questions and learns about things and then makes a really great decision. I made the decision to vaccinate him because I believe that vaccinations have been a great gift to our overall well being.

We vaccinate and couldn't imagine doing otherwise. I am not worried only about my own child's health, but also the health of those who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to be vaccinated. Herd immunity only works if the majority of the herd gets vaccinated. We're happy to do our part.

I decided from the get go that I could either trust our medical system or not. Given that I'm neither a doctor or a scientist last I checked, I went with the medical establishment. I understand the need to advocate for our children and not blindly follow but I'm amazed sometimes at people's bithe disregard for current standards. Go to India, Africa or other parts of the world where they many children have NONE of this. To opt out borders on arrogance sometimes.
